About the founder
Laken HomeGuard LLC was built on a simple principle: proactive care prevents costly problems.
The idea for the business came after a costly issue at my parents’ lake home near Castle Rock Lake. During the winter, the water line to the refrigerator’s ice maker froze and eventually burst. Because the home was vacant at the time, the problem went unnoticed until neighbors saw water running out of the basement. By then, the damage had already caused thousands of dollars in repairs.
That experience highlighted how quickly small issues can become major problems when a home sits unattended.
Before starting Laken HomeGuard, I worked in my family’s business selling, installing, and servicing milking equipment for dairy farms. In that environment, reliability and preventative maintenance were critical. My role focused on routine inspections, identifying wear early, and addressing issues before they led to larger failures.
By consistently maintaining equipment and staying ahead of problems, we were able to reduce unexpected breakdowns and keep operations running smoothly.
